A house for rest between the Sintra forest and the Atlantic

The living room at issebya.homes: wooden ceiling beams, a stone pillar, linen curtains and a sheepskin on a low sofa

This house was made with the intention of rest. Rest for your body, and rest for your mind. Here, a good night's sleep flows into a walk through the forest in the morning and an hour by the ocean in the afternoon, and out of these ordinary days you build a retreat that is entirely your own.

Inside, natural materials set the tone: wood, stone, plaster, terracotta and linen. Nature outside, natural materials inside, and the stay becomes one continuous experience, the same textures carrying you from the forest path to the bedroom.

Every piece of furniture and every object was chosen one by one, and most of them are second hand, found and brought back to life. This is how we live one of our values: an honest acknowledgement of our footprint.

If you are looking for a place to stay near Sintra and the beaches of the Sintra coast, we have two private rooms, each for up to two guests, and shared spaces to settle into: a living room with a fireplace, an open kitchen and a terrace with distant views of the Atlantic.

The house stands in Almoçageme, a small village inside the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park on the coast west of Lisbon, about 40 minutes from the city by car and easy to reach by public transport as well. The Sintra forest rises on one side and the Atlantic lies on the other. Praia Grande and Praia da Adraga are within walking distance, and the forest trails begin a short walk from the door.

You can check dates and book a room right here.
